I started the 'horse journey' in the same way many people do -begging for riding lessons and cherishing every second of that one hour per week lesson, going around an arena in never ending circles. At the time it was magical..
This led to spending as much time as possible around horses, borrowing ponies , tanking around bareback.
After many years of horses being just a hobby, it took a gap year, in-between college and what was supposed to be a geography degree, to decide to give the horse thing a go.
I set off to Spain to try and find a sunny place to begin my equestrian career.
After some disappointing experiences with very shutdown, unhappy horses, I decided that Spain might not be the best place for me to learn and maybe I would have to let go of that lovely tan for now.
Thankfully something better came up almost immediately, and a few months later I set off to Germany to stay at Prohorse as a working student- Bug my pony in tow.
The 4 years I stayed there proved to be invaluable, and I left having had an intensive education in French classical dressage, horsemanship and barefoot trimming. The perfect combination to sculpt a horse ears to toes.
I moved back to England to join to the newest intake of the Ecole de Legerete teacher course, and continue my education and gain as much experience with every kind of horse I am lucky enough to meet!
